The following activities graced the occasion: round table discussion, traditional dances, fashion parade, sketches, prize award to winners of the essay competition amongst others. The official close of the Bilingualism Day was chaired by the Secretary General of MINAT Mr Yves Christian Edoa Effa, accompanied by the Inspector General, Technical Advisers, Directors and their collaborators. The first topic was on « Bilingualism as an indispensable tool for the administration of a multicultural society ». This was followed by an exposé on the importance of bilingualism in the use of technological tools. Three sketches showcased the use of Bilingualism on our day-to-day communication, offices and markets.
Closing the weeklong activities, the SG of MINAT, on behalf of the Minister, congratulated the Translation and Bilingualism Division for their ingenuity in organizing the bilingualism week which would go a long way in the promotion of bilingualism in MINAT. He encouraged the staff of the ministry, to put in more effort in the practical use of both languages. The Bilingualism celebrations ended with a cocktail party.
